Following its last production in May 2008 of the Alan Ayckbourn comedy Round and Round the Garden, Chorleywood Amateur Dramatic Society (C.A.D.S) is taking centre stage once more, to bring another entertaining comedy to the village’s Memorial Hall on Wednesday 13th, Friday 15th and Saturday 16th May.
CADS is performing Key for Two, a farcical comedy by John Chapman and Dave Freeman.
There is a global recession (sound familiar?!) and in Brighton Harriet struggles to make ends meet by entertaining two married men, Gordon and Alec –neither of whom know about each other and each of whom have their allotted visiting times.
A carefully planned schedule and the imaginary church-going but slightly alcoholic “mummy” are just the tools Harriet needs to maintain her lifestyle.
However, things take a precarious turn when both gentleman turn up at the same time, swiftly followed by their wives and a hilarious farce ensues as Harriet and her friend Anne stage the flat as a nursing home – and pull it off!
Performances will be at 8.00pm, doors open 7:30pm and tickets for all performances at the Memorial Hall, Chorleywood, are priced £8 and £6.50 concessions. They are available from the Chorleywood Bookshop or by calling the Box Office on 07708 869923.
