A school in Chorleywood hopes the introduction of solar panels to its roof will make pupils aware of climate change and save it money into the bargain.
The Russell School, in Brushwood Drive, has applied to Three Rivers District Council for permission to erect the energy-saving devices.
Headteacher David Peel said: “It’s one of a raft of measures we are taking in the school to teach the idea of sustainability to the pupils. We hope it will also save us money on our heating bills.”
The council will make a ruling on the application in the coming weeks.
