Kings Langley Parish Council has donated £200 to a charity to help it expand its services into Hertfordshire.
The Road Victims Trust of Bedfordshire offers support to victims of serious road collisions.
On average 50 people are killed on Hertfordshire’s roads every year and another 750 are seriously injured. The trust is now working on developing its services in the county.
Hertfordshire coordinator for the trust, Frances Bourne, said: “The Kings Langley Parish Council donation is very welcome as we have no statutory funding and so setting up the Hertfordshire service is dependent on us raising the funds for each part of the project.
“This money will be put towards the first training course for volunteers. We have made progress with our working partners the Police, the Coroner’s Service and with Hertfordshire’s road collision victims in identifying how we can best serve residents.”
