Parents and staff from a school in Radlett raised more than £300 for the Lymphoma Association with the help of a lounge band.
The parent and teacher's association of Fairfield School, in Watford Road, organised the fund raising event and meal after the mother of one of its members Helen Street was treated for the disease.
Melanie Reid, chair of the association, and a team of helpers decorated the school hall with streamers, balloons and candles and organised the music.
Ms Street later said: “I am very grateful to Fairfield School PTA for their generosity in donating half of the proceeds from their recent fundraiser featuring The Fabulous Lounge Swingers. What made the evening even more special is that my mum was there too, and danced with us all night long! She even jived with my dad, a site I never thought I would see again.”
A further £300 from the event on Friday, April 24, will go to the association to benefit the school.
