A record number of visitors enjoyed the Rickmansworth Society’s annual Autumn Market on Saturday.
Residents from miles around thronged the Watersmeet Theatre between 10am and 2pm, enjoying a selection of more than 30 stalls after the event was opened by Miss Rickmansworth, Emma Willicombe.
Barbara Owen, chairman of the organising Rickmansworth Society, has been involved in the event for all of its 30 plus years.
She said: “It went very well indeed. We had more people than ever before and an awful lot of stalls, from local societies to traders.
“Sadly there’s not many of these types of event still around so we are very proud of ours.
“Rickmansworth has changed a lot over the years but events like this show it has retained its sense of individualism and community.”
