‘That’s the first car wash I could get my Lotus through,” said film star Liz Fraser of “Carry On” fame after she had opened a new automatic car wash at the All Weather garage in Watford High Street this week.

Liz’s little Lotus sports car has proved too low for any of the other car washes she has tried, but this new one in Watford left her car sparkling all over.

And Liz herself, dressed entirely in buff-coloured suede – coat, hat and shoes – sparkled throughout the opening ceremony, posing atop her car and inside it for photographs.

Director of All Weather garage, Mr Norman Harrington, a personal friend of Liz Fraser’s, explained at a reception afterwards the automatic car wash will in future be open seven days a week and, as it can cope with nearly 1,000 cars a week, future customers will not have to wait at all.
