A cheeky racing pigeon took time off on Monday to stroll into a Rickmansworth record shop and leave an impromptu message by the latest Bros single.
Owner of Strawberry Fields Record Shop, Mrs Chris Holwill, said: “He looked at the cover of Bros’s 12 inch single Are You Mine? for some time and then he pooed himself beside it.”
Animal lover Chris took the bird to Mr Alan Tate, a pigeon racer from Northwood, who discovered the name of the owner in Worcestershire and his telephone number stamped on the inside of the bird’s wing.
“He is going to be fed and rested for a few days and then let loose to go back to his owner,” said Chris.

NOSTALGIA NOTE: The pigeon wasn’t alone in his verdict on Bros’ Are You Mine? It failed to make the top ten, as did the single which followed it, and the band broke up not long afterwards.
