What a lot they’ve got – brothers Christopher (left) and James Bartlett must be the conker kings of Watford with this massive hoard.
It took Christopher, nine, and James, 12, just three days to mark 1984 by collecting 1,984 conkers from Cassiobury Park.
“There’s a boy down our road who collected 1,000 but I made up my mind we were going to beat him,” said James, a pupil at Watford Grammar School. Cub Scout Christopher and Scout James, both members of the 61st Watford Central group, have now piled all the conkers up in a wheelbarrow in the garden of the family home in Hagden Lane, Watford.
