A question about which shops were forced to close to make way for the Harlequin shopping centre prompted Roger Pillinger to write to Nostalgia.
Mr Pillinger, of Blackwell Road, Kings Langley, said: “At the time when the Harlequin was being built, I was working at Bushey full-time every day and walked to WH Smith in the High Street every day, coming home to get the bus to Kings Langley and passed the works every day.
“Businesses shut as I remember included Sainsbury’s, Poundshop, an ice cream shop, Ketts TV/radio shop, a fitted wardrobe shop, and Alexander Sloan (soft furniture).”
Which other shops closed down when the Harlequin shopping centre was built?
