A former worker at Greville’s, the famous photographic studio in Watford, sent Nostalgia a letter about their time working with the family.
Valerie Pearcy, née Carter, from Hadleigh, near Ipswich, wrote: “I was very interested in your article of January 15, sent to me by a friend, concerning the death of Ivor Greville.
“I went to work at Greville studios about 40 years ago when I left school.
“All the brothers were there then and Jean also, even their mum who lived nearby popped in from time to time.
“I was employed in the workroom and the dark room, which was located up a flight of wooden stairs in the attic of the old building in Queens Road.
“Sometimes I accompanied one of the photographers to weddings on busy Saturdays, later I became the receptionist.
“I remember Ivor’s work with Bosch. He used my hands one day to model a bag sealer he was photographing for promotional shots.
“If I recall correctly, Ivor was also in charge of the front of house and photo call shots for new productions at the Palace Theatre.
“My time working with them all was a happy and unique experience.”
