Hornets supporter Malcolm Chandler remembers being aboard a train with fellow supporters, who were all travelling to watch the side play Hull.
Mr Chandler said: “With regards to your request for memories on travelling to watch Watford, I remember the charter train trip to Hull in 1969.
“While on the train, a picture of myself and friends was taken playing cards by the Watford Observer and appeared in the paper the following Friday. I think Hull had a railway halt behind one end at Boothferry Park and the game ended 1-1.
