Harvey Burgess, bootmaker

Harvey Burgess, bootmaker, was pictured with his wife in his shop in Hempstead Road, Watford. Apprenticed at 16 to Edwin Ridgeway of St Albans Road, Watford, Mr Burgess learned to make boots and shoes as well as repair them. His wife did all the riveting and polishing.
