The newly-elected mayor was “impressed” when he appeared at the official opening of a business redevelopment in the town.

Watford Mayor Peter Taylor arrived in the early hours on May 25 to oversee completion of the nine-month-long industrial unit project on Caxton Way.

The new premises, adjacent to Watford Business Park, were built by Lodge Park Construction and are made up of four large units plus a small office space complete with loading bays covering between 4,779 – 19,116 square feet.

Three of the four currently unnamed business units are under offer and managed by UK property consultants, Lambert Smith Hampton. 

Mayor Taylor said: “The council have been very proactive in supporting businesses and it is important to have high quality places for our businesses in Watford.

“This building seems very spacious and Watford needs more places such as this.

“I am impressed by it - particularly the overall quality, the fine finish and the bicycle provision area to the rear. This premises also has a lot of green potential.”

Peter Hubbard, managing director of Lodge Park Construction, said: “We are just pleased to have been a part of this site and helping to redevelop the area.”

Lodge Park project manager, Alan Sebuliba, said: “It’s been a challenging development on a one-way system and I’ve done my best to keep everyone happy.

“Overall I am very pleased with how it looks.”
