YOUNG people in Bromley are set to benefit from a huge cash boost thanks to lottery money.
The New Opportunities Fund (NOF), which distributes lottery money, has allocated £426,119 to Bromley Education Business Partnership from a grant of £3.4m.
It will be used to help disadvantaged children at 24 primary, secondary and special schools with out-of-school-hours clubs.
Other programmes include the supported use of a children's mobile library, residential outdoor pursuits, a mentoring scheme and help for pupils with English as an additional language.
Bromley's Education Business Partnership manager, Jean Norton, said: "As well as boosting facilities, the project will let schools forge stronger links with each other."
Bromley director of education, Ken Davis, said: "This exciting scheme is sure to bring benefits to pupils in raising standards of key and basic skills.
" They will also be able to share knowledge and develop good practice for out-of-school learning."
