This year's Abbots Langley Tough Ten saw 793 runners and a record number of children take part.

Watford Observer:

Kevin Brown from the Abbots Langley Tough Ten committee said: "The weather was brilliant. There was a lovely window of sunshine between the rain on Saturday and the rain today.

"A record number of children took part in the 1.5K race. The race was full up and had to be capped at 200 participants."

Kevin Brown of the Abbots Langley Tough Ten committee said: "What makes the Abbots Langley Tough Ten such a great community run is the different distances we have. We get nans and grandads, mums and dads and children spending a morning running and cheering eachother on.

"We will have raised more than £6,000 in entry fees with more to come in sponsor money. We would ask anybody who has been sponsored to collect their money and pay it in as soon as possible, and then we on the committee can start to look at various good causes in the village that we are able to support.

"The Tough Ten committee would like to thank every one who ran and came and supported us, as well as all the local volunteers who gave up their Sunday morning to marshal for us and help with refreshments."

A full list of the runners and winners of each race will appear in this week's paper.
