FIREWORKS and their season is underway so there's no better and safer way to enjoy this time of year than at an organised display. The Amersham School on Stanley Hill will be holding their display on Friday, November 7 and this is sure to be a great evening. Gates open at 6pm with a barbecue and beer tent available. Tickets for the evening are £4 adult and £1 child at the gate. You can save a bit by pre-booking a family ticket at £8 (two adults and two children) available from the school or by telephone on 01494 870080. All funds raised from this PTA organised event will go towards much needed funds for the school.

CONTEMPORARY arts and design comes to Old Amersham this weekend in an art exhibition in the Market Hall from Friday to Sunday. Admission is just £1 for adults, with children free.

WOODROW Craft and Gift Fair takes place tomorrow in the Sports Hall and admission is just £1 and should be well worth a visit as I know a lot of effort goes into organising these events. There will be quality craft stalls with plenty of unique gifts available to start filling those Christmas stockings. Also on sale will be plants and cakes plus a tombola and a raffle. After all that shopping why not enjoy the refreshments?

The Craft Fair is open from 10.30am to 3.30pm so there is plenty of time to get there and browse.

THE next meeting of the Town Council on Monday will include the issue of Christmas lights for Amersham. The council will be considering proposals against the available community grants. Among other items on the Town Council agenda will be the replacement seating for Little Chalfont Village Hall and a payment scale for the street lighting patrol.

IT'S your last chance this year to go on one of the guided walks around Old Amersham on Sunday. Lasting around one and a half hours the walk is well worth going on for a cost of just £1 per person with children under 16 going along for free. No need to book just turn up on the day.
