MEDIEVAL knights will fight for glory when Bexley's Hall Place hosts its first fair.
The Hall Place Fair, on Bank Holiday Monday, replaces the annual arts fair and will include a medieval encampment, games and trails and events.
Visitors will be able to try their hand at archery, watch a fletcher make arrows and see displays of falconry and hunting dogs.
There will be Tudor music, roast pigs, jugglers, tumblers, a Punch and Judy show and games for children.
There will also be the chance to take a tethered hot-air balloon ride 100ft over Hall Place.
Martin Purslow, director of the Bexley Heritage Trust, which runs Hall Place, in Bourne Road, says the event was inspired by tales of the Black Prince who, legend says, may have visited Hall Place.
The fair is from 10am to 5pm on May 28. Entry is £3 for adults, £1 for children. Youngsters under five get in free. All proceeds will go towards the restoration of the house and gardens.
