PLANS to improve access to council services, are in the pipeline for Bexley Council.

The council is introducing hi-tech changes and establish methods to make it easier for people to get the information and help they need.

For those with computer access, Bexley hopes to make it possible for people to be able to e-mail any of the council's services and use the Internet to fill in council forms and return them, read council reports and find out decisions, find out about local services or events and book tickets and use the council's website to get detailed information about the borough.

For those without a computer Bexley intends to make it possible for people to go to any council reception area and get help or information about any council service, and be able to do the same by telephone without being passed from extension to extension.

The improvements will be brought in gradually, but the council has revamped its telephone directory entry to make it easier to find the service they want.

It is also currently publishing an A-to-Z quicklist of council services which will be distributed with the next Bexley magazine and available on the council's website.
