THE fightback by community health councils (CHCs) to stop their abolition has received another boost.
Bexley CHC was among those from all over the country which lobbied Parliament last week against the abolition plan, which is part of the Government's Health and Social Care Bill.
Its campaign is now being supported by MP David Hinchcliffe, who is also chairman of the influential Commons Health Select Committee.
He has tabled an amendment to the Bill, which would keep the CHCs as a co-ordinating body for the new structures the Bill would create.
Wales and Scotland have already retained its Local Health Councils.
