Herts Ladies Volleyball Club made it three wins out of three with a 3-0 victory over Nottingham Rockets last Sunday in Women’s Division Two North.
With two key players missing due to injury, Herts made a nervous start and found themselves 8-2 behind in the first set at the technical time out. Taking advantage of the time to regroup, Herts back to take the first set 25-20 thanks to a run of nine serves in a row by Valentina Multane.
The second set saw a better result with a 25-18 win as a result of a more stable first pass and some superb attacking from Alexandra Schultze. Nottingham continued to battle but Herts took the match with a closely fought 26-24 final set.
The result leaves Herts second place in the League behind South Birmingham on points difference.
The team’s next match is away to Loughborough tomorrow.
