Steve Finn is expected to have a scan after suffering a thigh injury on the opening day of England’s tour to India.

The Watford-born bowler pulled up as he chased a ball to the boundary and immediately left the field on the first day of three-day match against India A in Mumbai.

The injury to Finn’s right leg meant he had to cut short the second over of his second spell and was replaced by Jonathan Trott’s medium pace.

Despite the 23–year-old’s absence, the tourists were able to restrict their opponents to 224 for six at tea.

Finn bowled four overs prior to his injury, claiming one maiden but seeing 22 runs scored off the other 18 deliveries.
