Watford await Coventry City's decision on whether the Sky Blues plan to sign Stephen McGinn

Stephen McGinn is back at Watford as the club await to find out whether Coventry City want to take the player on loan.

McGinn, who has not played a competitive game since February 2011 due to injury, trained with Coventry earlier this week and featured for the Sky Blues in a behind-closed-doors match against Leeds United on Monday.

Speaking this afternoon, head coach Gianfranco Zola said: "Stephen went there, trained with them and played in a game and now he is back here and we are waiting to see how it evolves. It was with a view to a loan and now we are awaiting their decision."

Two other players who are back at Watford are Dale Bennett and Ross Jenkins. Bennett's loan at AFC Wimbledon expired yesterday and Jenkins' stay with Plymouth Argyle was due to end on Saturday but both players returned early due to injury.

However, Zola expects the duo to go back out on loan once they regain fitness.

He said: "Bennett is back because he is injured and in treatment but I believe he will go out again. The same goes for Jenkins, who is having treatment here now."

He prob thinks: if Cov don't take him I will, before Malky macFat does.

I won't make Forum - washing my hair tomorrow.(Don't want to make LD jealous, but I still have mine.) I was gonna come as the ghost of Bas. I'll try to come next time which will give the messiah time to at least grow a beard.

First time we haven't been able to get tickets for a forum including the Harefield
one with the much smaller capacity. Will listen in though.

Beard grown, 2 days flat being the messiah and all that!
How can someone that hasn't soul come back to haunt?
Think we need to remember this is a precursor to a loan not a sale.

Kinda a think he'll be playing against the mighty blues of Arlesey, rather than Leicester this Saturday...as long as he passed his test.

my mates a coventry fan and said the local news reported that he played the friendly and mark robins sent him back stating he is not the type of player we are looking for.
bit concerning really.you never really regain 100% after knee injuries.makes you wonder if he will ever play top flight again.
