Victory for Watford Joggers' ladies at Stevenage

Watford Joggers’ ladies side excelled at the Stevenage Half Marathon as they claimed the top prize at the event which also incorporated the County Vets open championships.
Gail Winter (1.39.05) recorded a personal best, while Kate Pickard (1.39.52) and Sarah Sharman (1.53.32) both performed well to get the ladies team home in first place.
Pickard, Julie Rice (1.54.45) and Jane Malloy (2.06.11) claimed the first County Ladies Vet Team prize. Malloy was also second in her age group and Pickard in third.
Mark Studdart led the way home for the men with a competitive time of 1.31.05.
Elsewhere, Roz Fullylove tackled the Mornington Chasers Richmond 10k race and stopped the clock in 54.33. Martin Durcan was in action in Europe as he tackled the Amsterdam half marathon and returned with a good time of 1.53.55.
The club was well represented at the Great South Run and Scott Goodwin led the team home with a new personal best time of 1.09.24.
Elsewhere, James Gamble tried out the new Wycombe Park Run over 5k and secured a time of 22.44.
Watford Joggers are holding their Autumn Challenge on Sunday, a five-mile run through Cassiobury Park and Whippendell Woods.
