Watford Sunday League round-up

Two of the leading sides in the top division served up an absolute cracker in the County Cup as Lee Armitt single-handedly fired Oakview to a 5-4 victory over Hammer.

Armitt scored all his side's goals, with Jack Johnson, Mark Hansard, Ryan Denham and Gary Conolly netting for battling Hammer.

Herts Sunday Sunday Junior Cup Round Three

Four of the league's eight sides left in this competition went through to the next round in style.

Hertsmere (Sunday) scored a 3-0 victory over The Three Tuns through James Haighs, Louis McGregor and Matt Boyce.

An Andy Murphy hat-trick led Evergreen to a fine 6-2 triumph at St Maragretsbury United. Kieron Zeller also netted a brace and Jack Smith scored the other.

AFC Oddfellows had a real fight away to White Hart but came through 5-3 thanks to two-goal Connor Flanagan and singles from Gary Lynch, Joe Fox and Jeff Jones.

Woodlands United secured a comfortable 4-0 win over Casuals & Pelham, with a hat-trick from Mark Mullane and James Kinsella also scoring.

The teams who didn't make it through were Ebury Guild, who lost 2-0 to Real Herts United, while Gadeside Rangers Reserves were beaten 4-1 at O'Neill's Celtic, with Richard Reid netting the consolation.

Rickmansworth Athletic went down 3-0 to Dynamo Cross and in a hard-fought game, Oxhey Lions lost 5-2 at St Albans IFC Reserves after extra-time, with Steve Howard and Jamie Bowen scoring.

Turner Trophies Challenge Cup Round One

Oxhey Jets Vets had a bright start to the league's main cup with a 12-2 thrashing of Dome Bar Area.

Top scorer Lewis Putnam helped himself to double hat-trick, Danny Fielding also netted a treble, Owen Deamer scored twice and Ryan Murray completed the rout.

Turner Trophies Challenge Cup Round Two

Rifle Volunteer ended up convincing 4-0 winners against Met Police (Bushey) in the second round of the Challenge Cup.

The visitors' task was enhanced when Met were reduced to ten men after only ten minutes when their centre-back was sent off for a very physical challenge, followed by dissent towards the referee.

This gave Rifle extra time and space on the ball and they played some expansive football against the plucky ten men, finally making the breakthrough with a Myles Hall header.

The second period saw the Rifle take control and they doubled their lead with a nice breakaway finish from Sam Ryder.

Although the home side tried their best to resist, Volunteer pushed through the gears and man-of-the-match Hall added to his first-half finish with a brace to complete his hat-trick.

Current Premier Division leaders Bushey had a very comfortable 6-0 win over Division Four Racing Santandome through Ashley Harewood (3), Jamie Brown (2) and Joe Charles.

St Josephs had a bit of a fright before they saw off second division Mill End Sports 6-3.

Ben Hammond led the way with a treble, Liam Sonner netted twice and Kevin McKenna was also on the scoresheet.

FC Crescent, who are bottom of the Premier, finally had something to smile about after they defeated Division Three's The Pavillion 8-3.

Luke Beardsworth. Liam Hanley and Jamie Moran each scored twice, with Dean Ayres and Tom Devereaux also registering. Two-goal Sam Seymour and Craig Bartlett notched for Pavillion.

Rickmansworth Rovers won away at Hammer Reserves by the odd goal in three thanks to Adam Seabrook (2) and Marvin Andrews.

Premier Division

Gadeside Rangers beat Croxley Green Community Centre 3-0 to continue their upward turn in form.

Adam Hills, Tommy Mitchell and an own goal secured the points.

Division One

CK Guild slipped to their fifth league defeat of the season against high-flying Chorlywood Club 2-1.

Guild conceded in the first minute, with Harry Webb firing home. But as the game wore on, the visitors found their feet and went close as Garry Hockey and Karem El-Janfali just missed the target.

Aaron Farrell pulled CK level with a mazy run and a neat finish, and the game looked set to end all-square until Michael East popped up to snatch all three points in the closing stages.

West Herts had nine players on the scoresheet as they ran riot at Green Dragon to run out 22-1 winners.

Roger Lake led the onslaught with five, Sam Saleh (5) and Danial Strachinaru (3) also netted hat-tricks, while Davan Desai (2), Ian Gurney, Matt Jones, Jason Whyte, Kayon Howells and Michael Christodoulou joined in their side's free-scoring fun.

Old Garston Juniors had a fine 5-2 away win at Langleybury CC to claim only their second league victory of the campaign.

Patrick O'Boyle (2), Vilson Culaj, Dritan Kukaj and an own goal surprised the Cricket Club, who netted through Denis Malollari and Charles Hailey.

Division Two

Bushey Bimec went four points clear at the top with a 7-0 away win at AFC Bushey.

Leading scorer Paul Kenwright added four more goals to his tally, his brother Kevin scored one and Luke Tarrant and Paul Bradley were also on the scoresheet.

Old Fullerians had a struggle to beat Victoria 2-1 through Perry Knight and Miki Signorini, with Joe Cheshire replying.

In the battle at the bottom of the table, Wellington Arms Reserves crushed The Bell 9-0.

Jake Woodhead, Dean Duggan and Alex Kelly netted a brace apiece, with Dave Purne, Momer Mbia and Keith Whittal also on the scoresheet.

Division Three

Shenley Wood took advantage of the four teams above them being on cup duty to move up to third with a 7-3 victory at Oxhey Estates Reserves.

Dean Lewis hit a hat-trick, Jamie Hazell netted twice and Nicky Martin and Phil Coe were also on target.

Wayne Barber (2), Duncan Sands, Dan Knoll and Jon Muskett fired Railway Arms to a 5-1 win at bottom club Sun Postal United.

Division Four

Green Dragon Reserves took advantage of others being in cup action to climb up the division after Tony Browne (2) and Chris Agger saw them to a 3-1 win over Carpenders Park Rangers Reserves. The CPR goal was scored by Ryan Walsh.

West Watford hammered bottom side AFC Bushey Reserves (Scott Mitchell) 8-1.
