Watford help Portsmouth by ending Carl Dickinson's loan spell early

Watford Observer: Watford help Portsmouth by recalling Dickinson early Watford help Portsmouth by recalling Dickinson early

Watford have given Portsmouth a helping hand by ending Carl Dickinson's loan spell prematurely.

Dickinson's one-month loan at Fratton Park was due to end on Thursday but The Hornets agreed to recall the defender early as he was suspended and it would enable Pompey to sign another loanee, as there is a restriction on the number of players allowed in their squad.

Not trying to pick a fight with you, but how on earth and why would we want to lose Nyron Nosworthy, he has been a brick for us.

And you certainly would not be giving the likes of Prince and Holdson away on a free.

Nosworthy is an important part of our squad although currently injured.

Please keep up.

Only because I expect he is unlikely to regain a regular first team spot ever again and his wages are probably three times that of Hoban and Thomson combined. So i can see the Director of football getting shot of him to free up some money in the player budget.

Dickinson did have a wee good spell with us. Do not like Pompey, well their fans. Hope Carl finds a club soon. Must be sad for Pompey fans to be in dire straights. As an aside, just hope that the Bedfordshire things do not make the play-offs this year.

As long as you don't read the story, I think it's a great 'tonge in cheek' headline from the Wobby. Come January they'll be quite a few lower league sides at the wrong end of the table looking for a left back. Let's just hope they've not seen him play of late. Like a certain Scunthorpe side who played a sub for the last 10 minutes on Saturday called N Ellington. Oh dear....

Noseworthy transformed our season last year and I wouldnt let him go and certainly not for free,
Prince when fit might well fit into Zola's midfield group if he didn't then he is worth a fee.
I doubt Hodson will leave but if he did as an international we would get a fee.
Zola clearly had a liking for Garner earlier in the season, I think he will go for a fee but wouldn't be hugely surprised to see him retained for a while now that he is scoring again.

Beds things - no time for them, but I think they have suffered enough, as the 30 point deduction that cost them their league place was too harsh when teams like Spurs got a small cheque fine.

Agree with you to a certain extent but I can't see Zola giving Bauban or Nosworthy a free transfer! Zola will try to give them both more game time as I believe they still have got what it takes to get into the first team squad!
Also we can't sell or release all our owned players as some of the loanees may not be here next season!
Just goes to show how far Warford has come as a club since the change of ownership!

There are still some fickle fans around wanting players gone who they warmly welcomed in when we had no other choice, we may have new owners and lots more doors opening but I don't think we are a give away club in any shape or form, apart from trying to free up space, Chris, Prince, Garner, Jenkins and who ever else you think can now go from this new Watford era team will go for a price, that's what the Posso's do even if the price is not big they still would want to get something, Chris would make a good target man in lots of lower league teams still, Prince is a solid midfielder etc etc they are not crap players 11th last year proved that, they are just not Watford future players with the now rich pickings we have from our sister clubs! As for booting Nosworthy out are you sure?? He is a solid player and the type of player all teams need to keep, even if he is only used as back up, but personally still think he is worthy a place for keeping others on their toes, lets face it our defence is still the issue compared to last year when it was our front line!
