Football League 2013/14 season to start on August 3
5:02pm Friday 21st December 2012 in Sport By Anthony Matthews, Group Sports Editor
The Football League has confirmed the 2013/14 season with start earlier than usual on August 3.
This decision follows a ballot of clubs, with a “clear majority in all three divisions preferring the chosen date as it delivers an additional Saturday match”.
The season will end on May 3, with the play-off finals being staged at Wembley Stadium from May 24 to May 26.
The festive programme for the 2013/14 season will feature games on Saturday, December 21 and Sunday, December 29, as well as Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

L*t*n were relegated at the end of the season - so they had to re-apply to the FL. Funny they are not good enough for it.
WFC Prem League - L*t*n still losing play offs for FL Div 2.

I think 3 August is too early to start the season. Attendances will be affected by this as loads of people will be on holiday during August. I remember many years ago the season started right at the end of August. Soon the season will start so early that the players will need to come back for pre-season training before the previous season has finished. LOL
