A motorist has criticised the behaviour of two Watford players for tweeting pictures of her damaged car after it was involved in a collision with the Hornets’ team coach on Boxing Day.

Majella Tarmey’s Ford Fiesta Zetec was parked outside Ashton Gate when the collision occured as the club vehicle made its way into the ground ahead of the postponed game against Bristol City.

A picture of her car was posted on Troy Deeney’s twitter site, accompanied by the comment: “[Our] coach driver just finished somebody’s Xmas lol.”

Fernando Forestieri did likewise, with the comment: “Merry chistmas Bristol hahahah.”

Majella contacted the Watford Observer and said: “The damage that has been caused has been a massive inconvenience and I’m sure you can imagine my irritation when I read such comments from individuals who are representing such a high-profile business as Watford FC.”

The Bristol resident indicated she would be “contacting the club regarding the conduct of said players, as I feel it is unnacceptable for such public figures, in whatever capacity, to behave in this manner. It may be hilarious for these highly paid individuals, but for me it is at great cost”.

The Watford Observer understands the club will be dealing with the matter internally.
