Watford are close to receiving a boost going into the New Year after Gianfranco Zola revealed “it looks like” Nathaniel Chalobah will remain on loan at Vicarage Road for the remainder of the season.
The 18-year-old, who was in excellent form in Saturday’s 3-1 win at Brighton & Hove Albion, is due to return to Chelsea following tomorrow’s clash with Charlton Athletic.
The Hornets head coach told Sky Sports after the victory at the Seagulls that he hoped Chalobah’s loan spell would be extended but asked about the current situation with the player’s parent club this lunchtime, Zola told the Watford Observer: “We’re working on that. We think that things are going to be okay for us. You never know but it looks like Nathaniel should stay with us.”
He added: “I think it will be very good for him but also for us. Nathaniel has done very well for us and I think he is is getting better and better. I believe that it will be a very good thing for him if he can stay until the end [of the season] with us.”

I can certainly see why we would want to play him, but would Chelsea let us?

on another tact, I feel that we will miss Fitz tomorrow and hope he will not be missing for long.
He has that physical presence that is essential in one of your center backs and whilst I like Hoban and Elkstran and Neutron they do not have the
physique to stand a battering.
----- bags of skill will only go so far in this league
3 points tomorrow then and we start 2013 as we will go on.

My dream got even better we beat the seagulls away 1-3 with Matej Vydra doing a Husien Bolt impression befor tucking away his 12th of the season.
To top it all we got to keep an 18yr old wonder kid till the end of the season with the promise of making five loanees (the pick of the bunch) permanant signings.
I know I will wake up to hear Dyche saying that we have no money for signings and that Troy must be sold to pay for Bassinis' new Roller.
Really must stay off the sherry and mince pies.

Has he been investing in Coventry City on the quiet....
With reference to page 10 of Goals in today's Sun, the latest item for sale in the Coventry City club shop is the Official Coventry City hard hat priced at £3.00 (complete with picture & their quote : it is ideal for those considering constructing a new stadium).
Happy New Year all !

now that is really great news as he is arguably the cog in the team at the moment, lets not blow it tomorrow after all the hard work.

Also of course he is getting maximum game time - nothing p****s the big boys off more than loaning out people who constantly sit on the bench or worse ! ( Noble ? Trotta ?).

Discussions are probably centred on a 'loan fee' now that Chalobah has established his value in the Championship and could obviously get a loan with some of the wealthier clubs - Leicester etc. Abramovic didn't get mega rich without knowing how to cut a deal !

However long he stays, whether it's till tomorrow, the end of the season or for longer what will be will be. No single player is better than the club.

Has anyone heard about the new rules coming into place about owners who have interests in more than 1 club apparently this could stop us getting promoted. This is no joke by the way as it uefa will not allow 2 clubs who are owned by the same people play each other in european competition so could affect a european place for the premier league.
Getting into the premier league is one thing .... qualifying for europe once there is quite another...

All 3 clubs are under different ownership, it is whether or not UEFA fine print refers to relatives then that will be a issue, but even then they can get around this if the money is worth it! Re the loan extentsion this would be great news as it is clear for all to see that the team gel so well and watching NC he clearly has respect for his team mates and a great working relationship with MV. The futures bright the futures YELLOW! Happy New year peeps.
