Watford Harriers' Cory Keane started the new year with a bang at the Hyde Park 10k event on Tuesday.
Keane beat his personal best by a whole minute and his impressive time of 38.59 was good enough to win the Under-17 category.
Maurice Keane, competing in the V40 category, also recorded a personal best, clocking 43.18.
Liza Croft (42.37), Greg Neal (51.12) and Ray Hoyle (93.19) completed the team’s efforts among a field of more than 560 competitors.
Meanwhile, a Watford Joggers trio blew away the Christmas cobwebs with some brave performances at the Buntingford ten-mile road race on New Year’s Eve.
Mark Studdart led the way, finishing 51st overall with a personal best of 1.07.55.
Naomi Prasad ran excellently to cross the line as the 15th fastest lady, stopping the clock at 1.12.22 which was a modern times ladies senior club record.
Mark Nichols capped off the Joggers contingent with a time of 1.30.51.
