Watford-born Middlesex bowler Steve Finn takes two wickets as England lose second one-day international in India
4:04pm Tuesday 15th January 2013 in Sport
Steve Finn’s two wickets were not enough to prevent India from sealing an emphatic 127-run victory over England to level the one-day series at 1-1.
Finn dismissed Indian opener Ajinkya Rahane for just four to give England a platform and they were in control for most of the innings, until some late big hitting from captain Mahendra Dhoni (72) and Ravindra Jadeja (61 not out) accelerated the hosts’ total to 285 for six.
The Watford-born Middlesex bowler did end up with England’s best bowling figures, as he clean bowled the impressive Suresh Raina for 55 as well as bowling the only maiden of the innings to finish with two for 51.
England never looked likely to reach their target though, as they slumped to 158 all out, with Finn falling for a first-ball duck.
