Highly-rated Napoli youngster Soma Novothny attracting interest from Watford according to player's father

Watford could strike a loan deal for highly-rated Napoli striker Soma Novothny, according to the player's father.

Novothny, 18, is being linked with several clubs in Europe but could be tempted to link up with former Napoli coach Dodo Sormani - who now works at the Hornets.

"It seems that Soma will play in the under-age team at Napoli but there is a chance that he will go to another team on loan - maybe in Serie A or Serie B," father Otto Novthny told Hungarian daily Kisalfold.

"But it is also possible that my son will go to another country. Hoffenheim are interested in him as well as FC Zurich and Dnipro (Dnipropetrovsk).

"But his former coach at Napoli works as Zola's assistant at Watford and he'd like Soma to sign there on loan."

Heck a non-news story when we are waiting for the important news about Vydra. As the pundits say, bloody agents get in the way and then players are talked up by their agents, whether they be family members or those that just take all the money for fees not caring what is best for their so-called "clients".

Watford, don't be a bore, at least announce something exciting today, doesn't need to be 12 signings obviously, just one loan into Perm or new exciting addition, just ONE will do :-/

For me why? We have Geijo and Forestieri as cover for Deeney and Vydra!
I would rather we try to tie down Abdi, Vydra, Pudil and Ekstrand!
We have a good squad and if we do need any type of player it's a pacey wideman who could play on either flank!

Not really bothered about lack of signings. The players are signed to our 'Godfathers' and will do as they are told! They will then either perform well and prove their worth to the Trilogy of clubs or go Mia! Don't just be interested in our signings - look at what the sister clubs sign as well as this will have a knock on effect down the food chain (not talking fruit & veg or eggs here)

The disappointment of not signing anyone is still better than the disappointment of having to sell our key players (Marvin Sordell last January).

Exactly - if Vydra or the others go nowhere then Result! No doubt most of these players want premiership guarantee before agreeing to stay! They know what they have to do and will act in our favour against complacency! Win win.....

A month ago these boards were awash with well-informed club 'insiders' notifying us that five, six or seven (depending on who you believe) of the loan signings would be converted into permanent deals. Any who doubted were muppets. Well it's now 5.45 on Deadline Day and maybe those deals will still get done this evening, but what if they don't? Does it matter a toss whether their registrations are owned by Udinese, Granada or Watford? The Pozzo's can, and presumably will, sell whoever they like, whenever they like and there's nothing we can do to change that. That's the business plan. As others have said, far better this situation than the one which prevailed when we travelled to Millwall 12 months ago tonight. Mind you, that Forestieri deal does look increasingly odd. Quite apart from the extraordinary contractual term, why just him?

There's no rush to sign these players - they are all Club Pozzo so unless they move away from the Pozzo empire then they are probably more than likely staying until end of season.Signing permanently probably depends upon whether we are in premier league or not!

Ah you and Fessi, your becoming like a deranged stalker.
No, what people reported back Wails was what Nani and Duxbury quoted at club forum, if the club want the loanees, and the loanees want to stay then the deal will take place. This is the case for Fessi.
I know you hanker for the days of Bas, Bonser and Petchey, and I really wish you would take your miserable persona off in search of them.
And question Old relic, why is Forresteris deal any stranger than Murrays? If you went to Bristol, you'd know the fans choice of player, the one who was actually trying to earn his wages.

Even more pressure on GFZ to rotate players to keep them happy and defeats for an unsettled team.
BTW see Ipswich cancelled Nathan Ellington's contract today after just 3 starts in 18 months and an unproductive loan spell. Oh and I forgot to mention a great coach.

Morning Everyone!!! What a pozzotive morning!!! All of our top star's stayed!!! When was the last transfer window that, that happened??!!

I'd like to make two point's tat i think most people are missing.

1 - Fernando Forrestieri, asked as early as October to stay as he has moved around clubs, town's and contries since he was 14, when he 1st left home for Newell's Old Boy's and he just wanted to settle down as he love's Watford as a town and the people in it. That is clear to see.

2 - The remaing loan's wage's are payed in full buy Udinese and Granada. We have 11 loan's from Udinese and Granada, of which we wanted 9 to sign yesterday. Now they will be on around £8,000 minimum... (some will be more, some less).

Now that's an extra £72,000 a week... an extra £288,000 a month and an extra £3,3456,000 a year.

Now... why would you add another £3 million pounds to your yearly expenditure, especialy as when as a club we are making a yearly loss... It make's no business sense.

If we wait until the summer and we go up we recieve between £50-90 million in TV revenue, and then make the signing's... this makes sense to me. When the Pozzo's came in, one of the main thing's they wanted to do was make the club solvent, by doing it this way they are keeping their word.

@ChrisBottom16 says...
8:58am Fri 1 Feb 13

We nearly did sign a player yesterday. Fee agree'd but the player wanted to stay at his club as they have a real chance of winning the league. He is a free transfer in the summer (although some compensation might be paid) and i here he will be coming here.

His name is Jakub Kosecki. He is 22, Polish playing for Legia Warsaw. He can either player as a central midfielder, a winger or just off the striker. He is 5"6 but is fairly strong.

His assests are... Amazing pace, very similar to Vydra in the way he accelerates past player's. He has amazing technique. A great passer with incredably good vision and score's a fair few goals.
