Watford's on-loan Chelsea youngster Nathaniel Chalobah named England Men's Youth Player of the Year at FA England Awards

Nathaniel Chalobah has won the England Men’s Youth Player of the Year at the inaugural FA England Awards this evening.

The on-loan Watford youngster was voted for by Club England coaches for his performances for the national Under-19 and Under-21 sides last year, finishing ahead of Derby County’s Will Hughes and Everton’s John Lundstram, who came third.

The Chelsea youngster has won more than 50 caps at various England age group levels since making his debut for the Under-16 side in 2008.

Chalobah helped the Under-19s reach the semi-finals of the European Championships in Estonia last year before making his debut for Stuart Pearce’s Under-21s against Northern Ireland in November.

Meanwhile, former Hornets youngster Kieron Forbes, who is now playing for Forest Green Rovers, came third in the voting for the England C Team Player of the Year.

Eleven awards are being handed out at tonight’s event at St George’s Park, which is one on the highlight’s of the FA’s 150th anniversary year.

Amazing player for just 18 although he can be a victim of his own confidence sometimes and did give away possession a few times in silly positions on saturday. However, some of those crossfield balls he played were sublime. Hopefully if we can go up Chelski will see fit to loan him to us for at least one more season. Really can't see them selling to us unfortunately.

Agreed, he won't be sold as he is I feel being developed to be a future Chelski captain.

As you allude promotion is key to another season @ WFC. Ben Foster being a precedent perhaps season 2 has to be a higher level for a further loan for a parent club.
