President’s Cup Semi-finals

Holders Tudor Arms are through to the final again but they did it the hard way, winning 5-4 on penalties following a 3-3 draw after extra-time and coming back from 2-0 down with just 18 minutes left against Reed Rangers.

Tudor had the better of the early exchanges but it was their opponents who went ahead after 24 minutes when Lucas Gibbons slotted home from a tight angle.

Arms missed several good chances before the break, but Reed keeper Adrian Delaport and captain George Minihan were in fine form.

The second half saw Tudor having more of the ball and the better chances but after 69 minutes it looked like Reed had booked their place in the final when substitute David Baxter slotted home a penalty. But three minutes later there was a another spot-kick awarded, this time to Arms which Ben Collins scored.

Suddenly the game changed and with 12 minutes left Gary Warn scored a fine goal from 25 yards, firing home after turning with his back to goal.

With six minutes left, Jack Robertson missed a glorious chance to win the game when he missed an open goal from two yards out, mis-kicking his shot into the side netting.

James Roope put Tudor ahead for the first time in extra-time, but within two minutes Johnny Wright headed Reed level.

In the second period, Reed missed two good chances to win the game, with Karl Penny and George Hobson spuring fine opportunities.

There was nothing separating the teams during the penalty shoot-out until Penny missed Reed’s fourth effort, with Jack Robertson making up for his earlier miss by scoring the winning spot-kick.

Tudor will face Headstone Athletic after they easily brushed aside Woodside.

Dom David actually gave Woodside an early lead but once Shiva Kurup scored two quick-fire goals, Athletic never looked back and further goals from Tom O’Malley and Harry Healey gave them a 4-1 lead by the break.

In the second half, it was all one way traffic towards the Woodside goal, with Headstone adding a further five goals. Both Kurup and O’Malley completed hat-tricks and Dan Page a brace. A second Woodside was netted by Drew Snailham.

Premier Division

In the only top-flight game, Old Danes beat a Kings Langley side still looking for a first league point of the season.

Danes won the game thanks to three goals in a 15-minute spell in the first half from Terry Smith, Tom Gee and Rob Rossiter.

Tom Carter pulled one back for Langley seven minutes into the second half before Danes completed the win thanks to a late goal from Jack Lee.

Division One

Aquis missed the chance to take over the leadership of the division after they could only draw 2-2 with Headstone Lions.

The potential leaders led the game twice thanks to goals from Aaron Spink and Kaveh Fatemian, with the Lions goals scored by Darren Hartland in the first half and a last gasp equaliser from Joe Manfredini.

Inter defeated Watford Labour Club by a single headed goal from Lewis Cole after 20 minutes.

Division Two

The top two sides in the division both racked large wins over mid-table opposition.

Oxhey Park beat Colne Valley Reserves 9-0, having built a four-goal advantage by the break thanks to efforts from Rob Blennerhassett, Shane Flynn, Kevin Ayodele and Charlie May.

It took Oxhey until 20 minutes from time to add to their tally when Jon Flynn made it 5-0 but then Sam Blennerhassett netted twice and Ben Flynn and Shane Flynn completed the rout.

Evergreen Olympians scored just the one goal less as they saw off Ebury Olympians 8-0.

Neil Yull, Christopher Wells and Adrian Fedarico all scored doubles, with single strikes from Dan Burke and Dan Jones.

Bovingdon overcame Cassiobury Revolution 4-2.

Vincent Guillem and Darren O’Brien scored for Cassiobury, with the Bovingdon goals coming from Chris Kimonos, Dave Marks, Chris Truman and Harry Woods.

Jordan Cocomazzi struck a brace for Brookside and an own goal helped them complete a 3-1 win over Roundbush.

The sole reply for Bush was from Blaise Shevrington.
