Watford defender Daniel Pudil could miss the Hornets match against Derby County due to illness

Watford defender Daniel Pudil remains a doubt for Saturday’s Championship clash against Derby County and the Hornets could be without six other players.

Gianfranco Zola’s side go into the game unbeaten in their last four league fixtures and have recorded back-to-back victories.

Derby’s play-off hopes have stuttered and they have drawn three of their last four matches.

Zola stated today that Pudil had not been training with the side and the Czech Republic international is doubtful for Saturday’s clash due to illness Tommie Hoban will be absent after flying to Italy for a consultation on an Achilles injury.

Zola stated the game would be "too early" for Fitz Hall to make a return from a hamstring injury while Neuton is also ruled out.

When asked about the fitness of midfielders Connor Smith and Prince Buaben, the Hornets head coach said: "Connor should be back in full training next week. Prince Buaben might also be training with the team tomorrow (Friday).

Zola added that Watford captain John Eustace is also likely to return to training next week. He is currently suffering with a a "muscle problem."

Derby have their own injury issues and will be without skipper Shaun Barker due to a knee ligament injury.

James O'Connor and Mark O'Brien are also sidelined for the Rams trip to Vicarage Road and youngster Kieron Freeman is a doubt after he went off injured against Bolton Wanderers in mid-week.

Derby left-back Gareth Roberts will also miss out as he serves the final match of a three-game suspension.

Earlier on the season I'd be concerned, but with Anya's recent form I feel confident that we have a more than adequate replacement.

Stop the scare mongering Wobby... half of the six haven't hardly featured all season, should have read 'Zola has same squad to choose from that just won at Ipswich'.

Papers......I don't know.

I like Daniel Pudil and makes a big difference in the side when he is playing, but the main difference this season is the size of the squad which is a big bonus . There will be a strong side out on saturday and I think the team will be, Almunia, Doyley, Nosworthy, Ekstrand. Casetti, Chalobah, Bottachio, Abdi , and Anya. Deeney and Vydra. A great side and revenge will be sweet after the mauling at Pride Park earlier in the season.

When I first saw this I thought oh no there must be an illness that has swept through the first team... Then it all turns out to be a really poor article!
There can't be alot happening in the sports office for this garbage to be printed!
Basically nothing's changed from our last two games!... Pudil is ill and Hoban, Hall and Eustace are still injured (Eustace only playing one and a half games all season!!!) and Bauban that hasn't played for close to a year!
Cassetti to play and Anya too then! The only change from Ipswich may be that Bottachino starts ahead of Hogg and possibly Geijo starts and Deeney is on bench to get a little rest!

"Bottachino"

Poor effort with three quarters of the season gone. Suggest you learn the names of the team you support.

It is indeed an article poorly introduced. Essentially we would be unchanged from Ipswich although I expect Vydra to start in place of Forestieri. Or Zola might choose to rest Deeney. I think we missed Battochio at Ipswich. Hogg isn't the same kind of link up player.
Is it too early to start talking player of the season?...as, for me, Chalobah has been sensational and gets my vote.

Duffman is definitely no duffer. We all make mistakes so stop bringeing! Hoban to Italy for a check up. Vydra jetted back from Turkey. Who would ever have dreamed our players would be treated so well. And what about the coaching! Look at the improvement in players like Lloyd Doyley. Mr Pozzo and Gianfranco and your staff we salute you!

Yep Watford is a great place to be right now! The owners are first class, the board are united in there ambition, the Manager is a true gent who will be a class manager in time, the coaching and physio staff are great and the players are hard working, exciting talents that supply us fans with some truely great football!
All we need now is an improved home following, promotion and a new east stand/stadium redevelopment finished and our club would be fully transformed from the farce it has been for the last six years!

Lets get a new song for Zola and sing his current one for our fantastic owners:

Giampaolo wooooaaaooooh
And Gino wooooaaaaoooh
The Pozzo family
They come from Italy

Our man-a-ger is Zolaaaa,
Some say he's 5 foot 3
But we don't really care
Cos he comes from Italy

Gianfranco is our gaffer
no hoof ball on his watch
He likes the sexy football
And he really is top notch

Our manager is Zolaaaa
We can't believe it's true
We are the yellow army
Oh Gianfranco we love you

Duffers go easy on the wobby. Maybe they're trying to lull Derby into a false sense of security about all our injured players.

I keep close tabs on Derby as my wife is from around there and supports the rams. It won't be a stroll in the park. They have played some decent football this season and only lost once in the last 6 games. Fear no one but look out for banana skins.

Jason, are you using the "paste & go" tab? That hardly ever works for me.Try copying the link, then seperately pasting it into the web address box and then hitting the search button. Should work that way. Give it a go.
