Fernando Forestieri's double secures Watford win against QPR

A double from Fernando Forestieri ensured a Watford XI came from behind to beat a strong Queens Park Rangers side at London Colney this afternoon.
Forestieri was joined in the Hornets' line-up by Daniel Pudil, Sean Murray, Mark Yeates and there were also run-outs for Ross Jenkins and Prince Buaben.
QPR also named several of the club's first team players, with Jay Bothroyd and Junior Hoilett starting up front and Shaun Derry and Nedum Onuoha among those included in Marc Bircham's side.
Gianfranco Zola took charge of the friendly himself for Watford and named Yeates as the Hornets' captain.
Rangers had already gone close with a header before Bothroyd opened the scoring 15 minutes into the contest after Derry's through ball.
The Hornets' equalised moments later when Forestieri manoeuvred space on the edge of the area and curled a great shot in off the post.
The Argentine's strike partner Bernard Mensah had a shot go narrowly over, Forestieri also went close and Yeates hit the crossbar with a header, following Sean Murray's cross, before the break.
The contest became scrappy in the second half but Murray had a shot saved when through one-on-one and the dangerous Hoilett went agonisingly close with volley.
The match was decided late on as substitute Luke O'Nien freed Forestieri on the left and he beat the defender before scoring from an acute angle.
Watford: Bonham; Bevans, Thompson, Forsyth; Murray, Jenkins (Tumwa 55), Buaben (O'Nien 72), Yeates, Pudil (Hamilton-Forbes 55); Forestieri, Mensah (Connolly 80).

bauban is great and still will give us lots in the furture! Well FF can't wait to see back in first team with your confidence high! ps STOP running into the centre backs as you are being closed out to much and stop turning in on yourself as this gives a defender to close you down. Ask Zola to play you out wide

Also good to see the return of the Prince in his recovery from a long lay off! This is all good management planning as we will need to keep the whole squad fit and eager for the run in!

Why doesn't the WO report on Almunia's injury instead of this nonsense article on a totally unimportant friendly? Hog out
And stop worrying about Almunia, Bond will be fine.

Is it true that Foriestieri had to be potty trained before getting a first team outing?

I feel sorry for Hogweed, many of his posts are ridiculed. Hogwash, Hogwarts etc. He's quite entitled to his opinions, like everyone else.

Anyone who is truly a Watford supporter, will be only to happy to read about a full scale practice match against good opposition. This also marks an important progression, as I believe all recent matches against QPR behind closed doors have ended in defeat for us!! So, onwards and upwards, good luck on Friday lads!!

As for them being your 2nd team, they wouldn't be mine even if they were the last team on earth.
Your first team obviously is not Watford.
No Watford supporter in their right mind would support them.

Rich man play thing? Sort of like Eltons day you mean?
Wooter was legendary...but who was he? ;-)
Charitable? Ah you mean when we handed teams victory on a plate?
Community? On that we agree, the community has gone replaced by Benedictine monks!

The Club have been saved, we are coached by the nicest guy in football, who was also one of the greats. We are financially sound. We face promo rather than relegation, This is the kind of progress and angle I do like!
But if course in my opinion.
