In three seasons at Garston Ladies Jordan Littleboy scored 50 goals from midfield. Impressive at any level of competitive football.

She moved on to Watford’s Girls Centre for Football Excellence last summer and her undoubted potential has seen the Queens’ School pupil selected for the England Ladies Under-15 side.

Littleboy, from Bushey, will join up with the England team at St George’s Park, the FA’s football centre in Burton, for a match against Scotland on March 16.

The 14-year-old will then take part in a tournament against the home nations and the Republic of Ireland before a return clash against the Scottish side.

Her father, Garry, believes his daughter will not be overawed by the experience. He said: “She has always had her feet on the ground and she has played in big matches before.

“However, I expect she will be a little nervous before the game but that is only natural.”

Littleboy was encouraged to join Garston by her primary school football coach and Garston Ladies’ vice chairman Dave Annal at the age of seven.

“Her brother was at Highwood and I remember seeing her kicking a ball round when he was training,” Annal explained.

“She looked comfortable with the ball so I asked her if she played and if she wanted to come to Garston.”

He continued: “I have seen her develop as a player and I am not at all surprised to see her get called up for the England side. Her life is football and she really is a good all-round player.”

Previous Garston players Lauren Davey and Georgia Mays have gone on to play for Watford Ladies and Annal feels Littleboy is capable of establishing herself in the women’s game.

He said: “I think she can go as far as Lauren and Georgia, if not further. She is a really good player.

“As a club we have got a good track record with players going on and it is good for parents to see that their children can progress at the club.”
