Watford have, as expected, completed the signing of Matthew Briggs from Fulham on loan until the end of the season.

As we reported yesterday, Gianfranco Zola has moved to bolster his defensive ranks following injuries to Fitz Hall, Tommie Hoban and Neuton.

The 21-year-old, who made his Premier League debut for his parent club in 2007, has previous Championship loan spells at Peterborough United and Bristol City and has represented England at various age group levels up to the Under-21.

Briggs is ineligible for tonight’s game at Wolverhampton Wanderers but could be in contention for the Hornets’ home clash against Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday.

Hmm? What chances for the likes of Thompson? Perhaps a great deal as we push for the Prem. No news on the Football League verdict promised for today. Perhaps held back as "he who should not be named" has lost one court case and another court case is pending? Let's tuff Wolves tonigh and do the Wednesady club on Tuesday

Signed as an emergency defender but could feasibly be used as a wingback. No doubt Holloway would moan though and to think I used to like him :0
