Derby County sign Watford's Craig Forsyth on loan

Forsyth joins Derby on loan Forsyth joins Derby on loan

Watford defender Craig Forsyth has joined Championship side Derby County on a one-month loan.

Derby have been struggling with injuries of late and have agreed to take the Scot on loan until April 1.

Forsyth, who has been used at centre half, left back and left midfield for the first team and reserves this season, has made two starts and two substitute appearances during the 2012/13 campaign.

The 24-year-old has made 26 appearances for the Hornets since he joined from Dundee in the summer of 2012.

He also made eight outings on loan at Bradford City this season.

Ok we've already played Derby twice but with Pudil and Anya(who IS a winger), they'll get knackered after a while.Looks like Briggs might be on the bench at least tomorrow. Surprised at this, especially that Craig had a decent game at home to Huddersfield. Craig I would have kept..he can play LB, LM, LW and a good target man if needs be upfront. Good that GZ and Clough might be good mates.

Disappointed, as he is both a winger and a full back, and so makes a natural wing back. His height also makes him a useful outlet under pressure. For games where attack is the best form of defence, I would play him ahead of Pudil, or Anya out of position.

Still, it's just a month's loan, so he will be fit and available for the run in.

Skully84: OK, we've already played Derby twice.

So is that the idea: to beef up Derby if they still have to play our rivals for promotion? Good thinking!

Makes sense. We now have left sided cover with Briggs.

Some interesting psychology on that front. I guess having started 8 Prem games this season he might expect to be an automatic pick, although I assume that will have been discussed with both player and Fulham.

Pudil is on 9 yellows - one more before the amnesty (April 14 I ?) so 7 games to avoid a 10th and a two match suspension. Likely to fail I suspect - maybe that will be the opportunity for MB. Also could get in on the rotation principle. Once in surely best man is preferred pick !

Craig, do us a favour and sign in with a hat trick against Baardiff tomorrow night.
