Kings Langley suffer a 2-0 defeat to Southall in South Midlands Division One

Both sides created chances throughout the opening 45 minutes. Jimmy Armstrong forced Dominic Cassells into a good stop before Adam Hallissey shot wide for Kings.

Southall’s first clear opportunity of the contest led to the opening goal. Myles Hippolyte beat the offside trap before coolly slotting home.

Hallissey almost levelled before the interval but he headed wide from close range.

The second period was a close affair but Southall doubled their advantage 11 minutes after the restart when Tyrell Bentley deftly lobbed Ross Hampton.

Langley worked hard to find a route back into the match but Cassells performed well to maintain his clean sheet and seal victory for the visitors.

There were better fortunes for Kings when they hosted Stony Stratford Town on Saturday as they completed a 3-0 win.

After a bright start to the game, Jack Johnson opened the scoring for the home side as he headed in an Armstrong cross.

Stony came close through a Michael Mundy header before Armstrong thought he’d netted a second for Langley. However, the goal was ruled out for offside.

Both sides created opportunities throughout the contest but it wasn’t until the 77th minute that the second goal of the encounter was scored.

A fine cross from Armstrong found Gary Connolly in the penalty area. He took a touch and fired into the corner. In the final minutes, Ben Long rounded off the win with a fine strike from 20 yards.

Also in Division One, Sun Postal Sports suffered a heavy 7-1 defeat at Hoddesdon Town on Tuesday.

Dave Pigden put the hosts ahead in the first minute and Jamie Brandon and Robbie Carrol also netted before the break.

In the second period, Gary Simmonds added a fourth and Mark Gradielski and Guiseppe Crimaudo were also on target in the victory.

Sun pulled a goal back but a second from Brandon completed the rout.

Three days earlier, Sun had secured a 2-1 victory against Kentish Town.
