AUDIO: Blackpool boss Paul Ince talks about Watford, their fans and the Hornets' diving problem

Pictures: Action Images Pictures: Action Images

Paul Ince didn’t hold back in his post-match press conference. The Blackpool boss admitted he was “sick of people ramming it down my throat how good Watford are”. He also talked about his goading of the Vicarage Road crowd, who he claimed were “whinging and moaning”, and claimed the influx of foreign players at Watford has led to diving.

Ince believed the Hornets’ goal should have been disallowed for two reasons and described referee Andrew Madley’s performance as “brave”.

The former England international did praise Watford though. He said the Gianfranco Zola’s side play football the right way, are a good team and added that he hopes they do well.

You can listen to a large part of Ince’s post-match press conference below.

What?? He bottled every decision he had to make, even the most obvious of penalty calls. Ince proves himself a naff brainless manager once more...

What contradictory twaddle. We have got to be the most passive crowd of the lot (sadly)
Who dived yesterday? Fessi was a def foul.
Easy stereotyping by Ince who blames our foreign players ( eh? they have been around other clubs or a while) for diving yet praises their football.
Strange.

Listening to this was not nearly as bad as listening to I am Hollow.

His poor team came away with all 3 points and the little love note to the ref before the game paid off.

Nothing remarkable about this interview. He's always been a dullard with a chip on his shoulder.

Yes, twaddle is the best desciption I think. The ramblings of a bloke in the pub after a couple. Nonsence in the most part, the ref being brave and all that junk. BUT, this is the WO stirring things up again. It wasn't nearly as controversial as the opening article suggested.

It was biased but obviously for the NW press/TV. Not a lot in that to get too aeriated about in my opinion. GFZ's interviews are so much more balanced even when it is for local consumption..

It would seem that his son has been brought up to show the same attitude ie arrogant, spoilt and jumped up little t@@t. There was no need for that after the equaliser and at the end of the game, as they say what goes round.

Again, the article distorts the actual content when you listen to it. And let's not forget we were slating Dave Jones this week for his complaints about penalties not given etc. it all comes around. Ince is no hero of mine, but he also describes himself and Ferguson as whingers, so, at the end of the day, does it really matter?! More hot air. We move on.

So predictable to see Ince the self styled enforcer and had man playing the tough guy at little old family club Watford where he can slag off the fans with little come back.......like all bullies and cowards he will of course never try anything similar at Leeds or Millwall. One can only look forward to his enviable next failure with anticipation......wa
y too thick to ever really succeed as a manager.

And as for his son a real chip of the old block and perhaps the worst incitement I have seen since those pair of idiots and Claridge years ago. What a sad pathetic little thug.

Over 50 caps for England, including a number as captain ( remember the game in Turin to qualify for the World Cup?), over 200 appearances for Man United bringing 2 FA Cups, 2 league titles and a Cup Winners Cup then a couple if years at Inter Milan - I wouldn't call that a so-so career or a nearly man. Paul Ince should be done by FA for what he did at the end. He was incting the watford crowd. WE don't windge but we do let the Ref know when he is wrong. We should have one that game, ref was really poor and the penatlys should have had the guts to give those. Instead he allowed Blackpool to get away with it. We felt he was in blackpools pocket, he gave so little to watford. Hoe do you overturn a refs opinion on diving when F got his leg stamped on, he did not dive.

I can get my head round the arrogance of Paul Ince he has only won one game of football........... and was snubbed for months until Oysten was desperate.
Changing subject i am not normally into conspiracy theories.......... but the pre match attacks on our team by managers, like ince and holloway, seems to be having an impact on the way referees officiate our games........ i think its right that Zola hits back as we cant roll over...... the language used is nothing short of libelous and our management cant lie down and take some obviously defammatary comments!! Afterall no rules have been broken, its disgusting really. Some big cames coming up, looking forward to Barnsley......come on the horns!!!!

Can Zola please harness all of this hate towards us, and get us to prove a point to these idiots. I dont doubt for a second that our loanees have passion for the club, bit if the whole team has a little fire in its belly we can be unstoppable with the quality we have. If i am completely honest, I do not care what Holloway or Ince or even Pep Guardiola thinks about us, I strongly believe what we are currently doing is good for English football. We are spending little money, yet getting young talented players to play attractive football. However if we need to rile the players up by letting them see what other managers are saying I think we should expose them.

Why don't you and Ian Holloway mind your own business?

I know that it's not the Pozzo way to comment on things in the press (rather preferring to spend their time sorting out Deeney's contract, for example... I wouldn't argue with that) but I wouldn't mind one of them coming out and saying "we signed all of these guys on loan because the former crook of an owner - who passed the Football League's fit and proper person test with flying colours - tried to block the takeover (perhaps to give himself time to cover up some of his dodgy dealings) and there simply wasn't time to get permanent contracts sorted out once it finally went through. We've not broken any rules, we don't care if they change because it was a one-off, and the likes of Paul Ince need to concentrate on rescuing their own under-achieving sides before they start concerning themselves with what others are doing!"

Maybe he should stop whinging about not getting managerial jobs because of his skin colour, and consider that maybe he's not getting managerial jobs because Gianfranco Zola has got more humility, maturity and focus in his little finger than Ince has ever had.

I don't think that many posters have listened to the audio - Ince comes over quite well and much relieved to get a win. He also praises Watford and GFZ. The Wobbly article is very misleading and quite inflammatory - talk about taking quotes out of context! If the Wobbly keeps pushing out articles like this we are in danger of becoming a club of moaners and this will reflect badly on the supporters and the team. Come on we are better than that and lets face it we have been playing poorly of late.

Boring. I'd be bitter too if I was fighting to stay out of the relegation scrap and had a manager with a CV like Ince's. Can you honestly say you were happy with him being appointed? Clearly not.

Also loan the entire reserve team? We had one player starting the match who was on loan from Udinese. At least find a factual insult if you are trying to wind us up... 'Lol'.

You were right about one thing. Despite making you look like non-league players first half, we were naff in the second and taking away all the penalties that we should have had, you deserved at least a point.

Luckily we have no worries for the rest of the season, we are far exceeding our top half finish target. Can't say the same for you though. No wonder you come on other peoples forums; must distract you from constantly looking over your shoulder. An injury to Ince and League 1 it is. Bye bye.

When are the FA going to do something about the refereeing system. Everyone can have a bad day that's partly why we have substitutes, so why doesnt the 4th official have the power to take off a referee or an assistant and make changes with himself. Week after week I see the same 'official blindness' is that there should be two referees one for each half because the game is so fast Refs can't keep up? Should there juts be a referee and the other 3 officials sit watching TV monitors connected to the ref by microphones and he can ask for an opinion so that we get more correct decisions?

Ian Holloway (I know little winger) Laudrup and FZ all made long complaints in the press and other managers kept quiet. This disease of bad decisions is spoiling our game and with the amount of money at stake cannot be allowed to continue.

Surely someone at the FA has the balls to do something about it
