Second place finish for Watford Swimming Club in Herts ASA Major League

Watford Swimming Club’s A team finished in second place in the Herts ASA Major League and managed to retain their runner-up shield.

There were several individual wins for Watford competitors at the final gala on Saturday March 2.

Jack Spence, Katie Armitage, Max Ashworth and Ollie Taverner came out on top in their events, while good team efforts in the open girls and Under-12 boys’ relays saw further victories.

The results meant Watford had done enough to secure second place in the county, with Hatfield taking top spot.

The club’s B side also performed well and retained their place in Division Two with a third-place finish in the final round.

There were impressive displays from a number of swimmers in the side. Alex Kemp produced the stand-out display as he took five seconds off his personal best in the 100m butterfly.
