In-form Kings Langley Ladies make it six victories on the spin

Kings Langley Ladies secured their sixth consecutive win after completing a 2-0 victory over Evergreen Ladies in Division Three of the Beds & Herts County Women’s League.

Nicole Barrett and Mary Hogan both missed early chances for Langley before a Kim Nield shot struck the post.

Kings thought they had gone ahead when Jade North curled home a free-kick but the goal was ruled out.

The breakthrough came just after the half hour when Nield raced through the defence only to be brought down by the Evergreen goalkeeper. The ball broke to Barrett though, and she steered her shot home to put Langley ahead at the break.

After the restart, Kings conceded a penalty but Vicki Taylor did well to save her fourth spot-kick of the season.

Chances were missed by Langley to make the game safe but two minutes from time they added a second when Barrett fired home to complete the victory.

Kings have just one game remaining this season and it is against their rivals for second place, Bedwell Rangers.
