Little Hay golfers Glen Mason and Steve Rutherford clinched the club’s winter league in style as they recorded victory in the final round of the competition.

The league was played over seven rounds and in the last of those on Sunday the pair shot the best round of the day to score 45 stableford points, a total which was equalled by Lance Redler and Tim Farrow.

In the overall standings Mason and Rutherford ended on 224 points and were well clear of Jamie McIvor and Tom Butler, Rolf and Clare Stammeier and He-Young and Steve Crowhurst who all tied for second.

The men’s senior side held their March medal on Tuesday and Frank Klimaszewski was victorious on countback. John Redgwell finished second while Mick Milne was third.
