Watford defender Lloyd Doyley feels 'very ready' to make the step up to international football

Lloyd Doyley says he feels ready to make the step up to international footballer as the Watford defender prepares to represent Jamaica in a World Cup qualifier against Panama tomorrow.

The 30-year-old made his 398th appearance for the Hornets in their defeat against Barnsley on Saturday and flew out to join the Reggae Boyz the following day.

"I am quite experienced and I feel very ready," Doyley told the Jamaican Online Star. “It has been a long time coming, and so I feel like I am ready to help Jamaica to progress past Panama."

While Doyley joined up with his new teammates for the first time this week, he will be amongst many familiar faces.

Fellow Watford defender Nyron Nosworthy is included in the squad along with former Hornets Adrian Mariappa, Jobi McAnuff and Theo Robinson.

Doyley said: "I know a lot of Reggae Boyz because I have played against them in England, and so I feel very good at the moment in the team.

“I have heard about the stadium being an awesome atmosphere but I am used to playing in front of big crowds, and so that won't faze me, but I am looking forward to it.”

God almighty, the comments above depress the Hell out of me.

I am more interested in/excited about Lloyd getting a run out and a good performance at international level than I am about anything England do this weekend.

I'm still praying that Roy sees the error of his ways and intercepts Lloyd before he plays. Otherwise I feel we might never win the World Cup again :(

All good things come in the end.

He has matured like a good quality wine and is now priceless - real vintage.
