Garston Ladies Under-12s enjoy four-goal success at St Albans’ expense
9:00am Friday 22nd March 2013 in Sport
Garston Ladies Under-12s produced a fine display in difficult conditions to complete a 4-0 home win over St Albans City.
Emily Downey netted early in the game and Beth Smith than added a second to put Garston 2-0 ahead at the interval.
The second period continued in the same fashion as the first and Sarah Imansoura and Yasmin Sabri both scored to secure the win.
The Under-11 Diamonds took on St Albans Rangers in a double header and were not beaten.
In the first match, Joanna Verducci and Mia Ford were on target to seal a 2-0 victory.
Rangers improved in the second game but Ford put Garston ahead only for the visitors to score a late equaliser.
Garston’s Under-18s battled well but suffered a 4-1 home defeat against Leverstock Green.
The visitors had raced into a 3-0 lead by half-time and an own goal saw the Green lead extended.
However, Garston pulled a goal back through Danni Freeman and the hosts missed further chances to further reduce their margin of defeat.
