Hannah Smith and Alexis Mannion scored centuries in a stand of 240 as Radlett Women demolished the Essex club Harold Wood by 176 runs in the Southern League.

Radlett amassed 256 for one off their 45 overs, with Herts captain Smith hitting 121 not out and her county colleague Mannion 104 not out in their partnership, a club record for any wicket. Harold Wood were dismissed for 80, with county all-rounder Hayley Arrol taking three for 12.

This was a second win in two Southern League games, reflecting an influx of players at Cobden Hill. Radlett have joined a second league this summer, the North London, bringing the total of competitions entered to four.

Hemel Hempstead Women got off to an excellent start with a nine-wicket win away to Totteridge Millhillians.

The pick of the bowlers was Louise Pearson with four wickets and Sarah Ward who took three. Emma Becker in reply for Totteridge reached 21 before being bowled by Ward. With a total of 86 to chase Dawn Skinner opened with 19 before being bowled, leaving Sarah Ward on 37 not out and Louise Pearson 31 not out to reach the total in the 14th over of the 30 over game.
