Gianfranco Zola was unusually cagey this afternoon when asked about Watford’s injury news ahead of tomorrow’s crucial semi-final second leg against Leicester City.

Zola confirmed Manuel Almunia is fit enough to play and revealed Fitz Hall is an injury doubt, when responding to the first two questions, but then stated he wouldn’t be saying any more in regards to who was doubtful.

“Manuel Almunia is alright. He didn’t train today but he is feeling good,” Zola said.

“I don’t know [about Fitz Hall]. I will have to decide.

“I have a couple of doubts and I will have to wait until tomorrow to decide.”

When asked who the other players were, Zola replied: “I would prefer to keep that to myself.”

Captain John Eustace was on the bench during the first leg on Thursday night, when Watford lost 1-0 at the King Power Stadium.

Eustace started the first two games of the season but then had to wait until the FA Cup tie with Manchester City on January 5 for his next appearance due to back surgery.

The 33-year-old made just one start and another three substitute outings before he was ruled out once more.

When asked if Eustace was fit enough to start, Zola replied: “John is fine. I am not sure whether he will start or not but he has been much better in the last few days.”

Zola often rotates Matej Vydra and Fernando Forestieri so with Troy Deeney returning from suspension, Watford are likely to change their front two.

The Hornets also have options in centre midfield and defence, if Hall is fit enough to start.

Zola said: “It is fair to say that [there will be changes to the starting XI].

“I have been making considerations in the last few days and I will be making considerations tonight after training today.

“I will put the best team available out.”

There will be further comments from Zola on our website later today.
