League leaders Radlett suffered a shock first defeat of the season as they were beaten by 33 runs against relegation battlers Chorleywood.
The loss was Radlett’s first in sixteen matches but they remain 51 points ahead of their closest rival Hemel Hempstead as they aim to clinch the title and promotion.
Having won the toss s chose to put their opponents into bat and we rewarded as both openers, Ryan Fleming (five) and Rohan Lee (12), departed with only 20 runs on the board.
With Chorleywood rebuilding Kabir Toor removed danger man and top scorer William Pendered for 37 as the away side collapsed to 64 for five.
Peter Dunning hit the only six of the innings in a quick fire 18 before Toor dismissed the tail to bowl Chorleywood out for 129. Toor ended with impressive figures of five for 37.
Radlett’s response began poorly with their top three batsmen being dismissed for single figures and Tom Jenkins (12) being run-out to leave the score on 32 for four.
Rob Clements steadied the ship with an innings of 42 that included four fours and a six but David Bushnell (four for 37) was destructive with the new ball and Radlett were dismissed for a paltry 96.
Hemel Hempstead secured a 112-run victory over West Herts after Brett Penny carried his bat on his way to scoring a century.
Penny hit 119 not out and Hem Ilangaratne added 25 to help Hemel to a final total of 199 for six.
West Herts showed little resistance and only two of their batsmen reached double figures.
After starring with the bat, Penny then made an impact with the ball.
He ripped through the Stags’ batting line up to end with impressive bowling figures of three for 12.
Parth Mehta also claimed three wickets as the hosts were bowled out for 87.
