Ryan Fleming made club history as he notched Chorleywood’s first ever double-century in their 141-run win at Hoddesdon in Division Five on Sunday.
Fleming and fellow opener Simon Dare shared a first-wicket stand of 292 as they put the home side’s bowling to the sword.
Dare was finally dismissed for 104 but Fleming continued on his way, hitting 29 fours and four sixes before eventually finishing unbeaten on 209 as Wood posted a mammoth 359 for one.
Hoddesdon gave a good chase, posting 219 for nine with Tom Smithson picking up three wickets and Josh Ryan two.
Chorleywood’s junior development side also had an impressive batting performance to thank as they thrashed Cockfosters Seconds by 145 runs in Division Eight.
Wood racked up 305 for six with Callum Neal (129) leading the way as he hit his second century of the season. Frazer Pegler (61) then took over the onslaught with his maiden half-century in senior cricket.
Wood were equally impressive with the ball as they bowled Cockfosters out for 160. Callum Willis took four for 40.
