Watford triathlete Hannah Kitchen has been selected to represent Great Britain in the Under-23 elite race at the World Aquathlon Championships in Hyde Park next month.
Having previously qualified for the GB group team for the age group race, Kitchen will now be racing in the elite event which consists of a 1k swim and a 5k run.
She will also be competing at the World Age Group Sprint Triathlon Championships on Friday, September 13. This will include a 750m swim, 20k bike and 5k run.
Having travelled to Budapest and Auckland for previous World Championships, Kitchen will be hoping she can impress on home soil as she takes part at an Olympic venue in London.
She has started the season well and recently won her age group at the English Sprint Triathlon Championships last weekend at the Blithfield Triathlon. She also finished as the second female overall.
Kitchen also raced in the English Age Group Aquathlon Championships on Saturday in Tamworth. This was a 750m swim and a 5k run.
She was third out of the water in 10.10 and finished second overall with an 18.44 run, just eight seconds off the leader. She took the English Championships title after finishing first in her age group (20 to 24).
In the coming weeks before the World Aquathlon Championships, she has a couple of more competitions to compete in.
These are the English Age Group Aquathlon Championships this weekend and then the National Club Relays for her club Hillingdon Triathletes at the end of August.
